We are the newest hotel in Merano and we are super enthusiastic about it! We have made "tabula rasa" of what was there before, to offer you a completely new home to spend your most expected days of the year. From the foundations to the roof you will find a modern, chic and comfortable environment, with all the technological refinements that only a smart hotel can offer!
#2: The Unique Rooms
The new Prinz Rudolf Smarthotel has been designed with its 82 modern rooms in mind. Each of them has been designed to cuddle our guests through the use of natural materials and architecture designed to enhance the open spaces through fantastic panoramic windows. Comfortable Box Spring beds, high quality mattresses, a large exposed shower and the most modern technologies contribute to create a special feeling of relax, which has been at the heart of the design from the beginning. Everyone is invited to feel at home here at Prinz Rudolf; for this reason, in addition to the classic and comfortable double rooms, there are also connecting rooms for families, luxurious suites for the most demanding, as well as spacious rooms with four and more bunk beds for friends and sports groups.

A dip in our Infinity Pool, located on the top floor of the Prinz Rudolf, will surely be the crowning achievement of an unforgettable holiday! Endless emotions are guaranteed thanks to the water, whose quality is controlled and pleasantly warm, and the crazy view of the city of Merano. If this is not enough, two more swimming pools await you on our green roof, where you can comfortably sunbathe and enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view!
#4: The Prinz Rudolf SPA
The Prinz Rudolf Spa extends over 2 levels. In the cosy entrance area on the third floor you can take advantage of the Lounge area, equipped with comfortable seating, where you can wait for your next sauna session while drinking tea, water or juices. Here you will also find the changing rooms from where you can directly access the modern and spacious Finnish sauna (15 seats) with panoramic window and the bio sauna (9 seats) with a large TV screen. Upstairs, on the other hand, there are two relax areas with 70 seats including deck chairs, sun loungers and comfortable sofas, leading to the entrance to the spectacular Infinity Pool.
#5: The Gastronomy
Just as Prinz Rudolf liked to do, we are also dedicated to culinary delights! At the Prinz Bar coffee and croissants guarantee a great start of the day, while during the rest of the day fresh aperitifs, tasty tapas and sweet desserts are served. During dinner the Prinz Bar makes an incredible change of clothes. The soft lighting and selected music provide the backdrop for a place where freshly mixed cocktails, drinks and draught or bottled beers are served at the counter and in the many small, intimate areas in front of the panoramic windows. The restaurant and garden are divided into several spaces and on different levels, where you will be cuddled with all kinds of appetizers, grilled meat and fish, succulent burgers and steaming pizzas. Special attention is paid to people with various food intolerances, including those suffering from celiac disease. Meals are prepared for them in a specially equipped kitchen!
#6: living Merano in Spring
Coinciding with the opening of the Prinz Rudolf, the wonderful Merano spring also reaches its peak: the long walks on the Tappeiner among the blossoming flowers, the wonderful view of the numerous apple orchards in bloom, the Merano Flower Festival and the events celebrating the beginning of the warm and colourful season. You can also enjoy the first rays of sunshine in the greenery on the roof or on the terrace in front of the Prinz Bar.
#7: The proximity to the valley station of the Merano 2000 cable car
In conjunction with the opening of our house, the Merano 2000 cable car begins its summer season. The valley station is located just 400 metres above the Prinz Rudolf, and can be easily reached in a few minutes on foot, on a romantic forest walk or by bicycle. Once there, there is only a 7-minute cable car ride to the top station of the Piffing, during which the altitude difference of 1250 m is easily exceeded. From here you can take pleasant hikes to the numerous alpine pastures, climb to the top of Mount Ivigna, but also climb the new Heini Holzer via ferrata. If you have children in tow, they can have fun in the large outdoor playground at the mountain station, or go down at high speed with the Alpinbob.
#8: Hiking straight from Prinz Rudolf's
Get your hiking shoes ready and leave your car parked, directly from Prinz Rudolf you can walk the most beautiful hiking trails in the region without interruption! The start of the Scena water trail is just a few steps away and will allow you a pleasant walk to the valley station of the Taser cable car, which takes you to the renowned Monte Scena in a short time. From our house you can also reach the entire area of Labers and Freiberg, as well as the famous little church of St. Catherine near Avelengo and many other destinations in the mountains of Merano, with alpine huts and refuges.

Welcome Bikers! Prinz Rudolf has a safe and wide deposit for your bike. There are no limits to the planning and design of your bike tours. The range of possible excursions extends from using the region's extensive network of cycle paths to hard climbs on forest roads and single trails.
